Now you can receive automated notifications for messages received via Mela’s e-Services

Mela continues to develop its services for customers. It is now possible to subscribe to automated notifications for messages received via our e-Services. You can choose to receive automated notifications by SMS text message or e-mail.

Automated notifications will be available as of 19 April 2023. If you have already provided your phone number to Mela, you will receive automated notifications by SMS text message. If you prefer to receive automated notifications by e-mail, you can change the setting under “My information” after logging in to Mela’s e-Services.

Sending and receiving messages via Mela’s e-Services (Contact Mela > Messages) is a fast and secure way of taking care of all your Mela insurance matters.

You will receive an automated notification in the following situations:

  • You have contacted Mela via e-Services and Mela has responded to your message
  • Mela has sent you a message via e-Services related to an insurance matter that is under process

Check your contact information and subscribe to automated notifications

You will receive automated notifications by SMS message to the phone number that you have provided in your customer information. You can check your phone number and e-mail address under “My information” after logging in to Mela’s e-Services.

Did you not receive an automated notification? Check that your phone number has been saved correctly under “My information”.

If you prefer not to receive automated notifications from Mela, you can change the setting under “My information”.

Mela’s e-Services are available 24/7

Our e-Services are the fastest way of handling all your Mela insurance matters, wherever and whenever is most convenient for you. You can even access our e-Services on your mobile device. You can log in to Mela’s e-Services using Suomi.fi e-identification, which requires personal online banking codes, a mobile certificate or a certificate card.

You can use our e-Services to send Mela messages and attachments. You can also be used to apply for old-age pensions, partial old-age pensions, disability pensions, continuation of rehabilitation allowances, or Mela sickness allowances.

Mela’s e-Services can be used to submit:

  • Accident claims
  • Travel invoices
  • Insurance applications for grant recipients, as well as applications for changes to your grant work, such as an interruption, early termination or return to work
  • Insurance applications for agricultural entrepreneurs, reindeer herders and forest owners, as well as applications for changes to existing insurance policies
  • Applications for voluntary occupational or leisure-time MATA insurance

You can also use our e-Services to approve insurance applications that have been made for you on the basis of a phone conversation, for example.
