Changes requiring notification include:

- Changes to how your grant funds are used.
- Changes to the country in which your work is performed.
You can notify Mela using the form Application due to a change in circumstances. Based on the information you provide in your application, we will then determine whether changes to your insurance are required.
You can submit the application electronically using our e-services or as a secure e-mail attachment, or by post.
Discontinuation or conclusion of your grant work ahead of schedule
The insurance that has been issued to you may be suspended if your grant work is interrupted for a period of four months or more due to:
- Illness or rehabilitation
- Childbirth or care of a child under the age of 3
- Paid employment
- Military or civilian service
- Other similar reason.
In order for the insurance to be suspended, it must be valid for at least four months before the work is interrupted, and the length of the remaining working period must also be at least four months.
Attach to your application written consent from the issuer of your grant
In addition, you will need written consent from the issuer of your grant permitting you to interrupt your work. The consent should be attached to the form Application due to a change in circumstances. Both documents can be submitted electronically using our e-services or as an attachment using Mela’s secure e-mail service.
Premature termination of your insurance
The insurance that has been issued to you may be terminated prematurely if you do not use your grant funds in their entirety. Submit the form Application due to a change in circumstances to Mela after you have notified the issuer of your grant about the premature conclusion of your work. The consent of the issuer should be attached to the application.
Changes to how your grant funds will be used
If the way in which your grant funds will be used changes during the insurance period, notify Mela using the form Application due to a change in circumstances.
Changes to the country in which your work is performed
You should also notify Mela if the country in which your grant work is performed changes. Further information about work abroad can be found here: Working abroad on a grant or scholarship.
