Insurance decision that states a larger sum as my earnings

I have received an insurance decision that states a larger sum as my earnings than the total of my grant/scholarship amount. Why is that?

The change in amount is due to the fact that the MYEL earnings are adjusted annually by an index increase (= wage coefficient). In accordance with Finland’s Employee Pensions Act, the annual earnings calculated on the basis of the grant/scholarship are comparable to earned income for the purposes of pension accrual. So, even though the amount of the grant/scholarship has not increased in practice, the annual earnings recorded in the employment register are index-adjusted annually, as is done for other types of earned income.
